A sailor, civil rights and Montgomery, Alabama —
how we came to be here

IntelliTours LLC pioneered GPS-guided multi-media tours in historic Montgomery, Alabama. Its June 2004 pilot walking tour of civil rights sites demonstrated the precision and magic of GPS-guided tours. In August 2004, Montgomery's transit system began operating the world's first trolleys with a GPS satellite-guided audio tour of historic sites.

Company founder Jim Carrier, an award-winning author, civil rights activist and transatlantic sailor, combined his love of stories, travel and marine navigation into the groundbreaking venture. Carrier is author of nine books and founding director of Tolerance.org for the Southern Poverty Law Center, a two-time winner of a coveted Webby award for best activist Web site.

Our Chief Technology Officer is Brian Youngblood, who launched Tolerance.org. A computer programmer, Youngblood’s expertise is in java programming, web development and analytics. He heads up the technical side of Intellitours, that includes, installation, customer support and R&D. He makes the content come alive!

Youngblood is an avid mountain biker with a knack for brewing beer.
